Dr. Lisa Moran
Dr. Lisa Moran is a dedicated pediatric neuropsychologist with over a decade of experience helping families navigate the complexities of their child’s neuropsychological and medical needs. With a strong focus on providing clear, evidence-based guidance, she strives to ensure that families feel respected, informed, and empowered to make decisions that best support their child’s development and well-being.
Dr. Moran's friendly and approachable demeanor puts children and teens at ease, making them feel comfortable. Her goal is to foster a positive experience for both patients and their families, offering compassionate care that addresses the unique needs of each individual.

Dr. Moran earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from The Ohio State University, where she received specialized training in pediatric psychology and neuropsychology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Dr. Moran completed a 1-year internship and a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). There, she worked closely with the UCLA Steve Tisch BrainSPORT program which is renowned for its comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to the evaluation and management of concussions and other traumatic brain injuries (TBI). At UCLA, Dr. Moran honed her skills in concussion evaluation and management and continued her research on traumatic brain injury.

From 2015 to 2024, Dr. Moran was instrumental in building and directing consulting services at Rady Children’s Hospital of San Diego through a contract with Advanced Neurobehavioral Health of Southern California. In her leadership and clinical roles, she provided direct patient care and expanded services significantly. Under her direction, the division grew from working solely with the pre-surgical epilepsy program and rehabilitation medicine department to taking referrals from neurology, neurosurgery, hematology/oncology, and the transplant program.

Dr. Moran has evaluated children, teens, and young adults with a wide variety of medical conditions involving or impacting the brain or central nervous system and which affect that person’s development. She specializes in working with individuals with traumatic brain injury, concussion, stroke, epilepsy, prematurity/low birth weight, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, brain tumors, sickle cell disease, white matter diseases (e.g., multiple sclerosis), and encephalitis.

Dr. Moran's research has focused on the neurocognitive and psychosocial outcomes of pediatric traumatic brain injuries and other neurological conditions. She has published over 15 articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of the International Neuropsychological Society, Journal of Neurotrauma, and Journal of Pediatric Psychology. Additionally, she has presented her research at numerous national and international scientific meetings.
Dr. Moran is passionate about creating lasting change, not only for the children she serves but for the families and professionals who support them. She strives to offer services that not only meet immediate needs but also contributes to a broader understanding and better outcomes for all those involved in the child’s care.
